MEDNOVO is among the finalists of the European Healthcare-IT-Price „IT @ Networking Award 2011”

With its project “IT meets medical engineering – process optimization in medical documentation” the MEDNOVO Medical Software Solutions GmbH was nominated from more than 80 submitted international topic suggestions and was able to compete with the other candidates in Brussels until the finals of this year’s IT @ Networking Award.

Twenty-two projects were nominated altogether by the Healthcare IT Management (HITM) and the European Association of Hospital Managers (EAHM). These projects were introduced in short presentations on January 19, 2011. MEDNOVO convinced the jury and the auditorium with the presentation of its overall solution MediColor and the approach to precisely determine the actual benefit for the users and the clinic.

In the second round the finalists presented their projects in detail. MEDNOVO initially introduced its company slogan “IT meets medical engineering” and illustrated the holistic approach of its MDS (Medical Documentation System) MediColor. This includes the integration of all medical devices, image-giving as well as measured data-giving devices, into the existing IT environment of a clinic.

The fact that MEDNOVO has so far integrated more than 130 different modalities / software systems and has installed more than 5.000 workstations worldwide also impressed the international audience.

The process optimization, which results from the ideal communication flow between the medical devices and the hospital information systems and from the structured findings documentation, was proven by MEDNOVO by means of a study on calculation of profitability. This study was carried out in the gastroenterology of the Ev.-luth. Diakonissenmutterhaus Rotenburg Wümme e.V. within the installation of the MDS MediColor. Here, MEDNOVO convincingly illustrated the actual saving potential resulting from the integration of IT and medical engineering.
