On May 17, 2011 users from the medical engineering, IT and medicine sector and industry partners met for the second time already in order to exchange information on existing and on future challenges concerning ”IT meets medical engineering“.

MEDNOVO’s performance at this year’s conhIT was a great success. Find out more about the innovations and issues under “IT meets medical engineering“.

In addition to the new expert forms in the Medical Documentation System (MDS) MediColor, it was particularly the optional web-based application, which can easily be used on a Tablet PC, that received high praise. The fact that also non-imaging methods can profoundly be integrated into the IT environment was much appreciated, too. This was exemplarily demonstrated live with an ECG device of Schiller Medizintechnik at MEDNOVO’s booth. The possibility to integrate voice recognition into the findings documentation appealed very much as well.

The highlight was the new DICOM Viewer from MEDNOVO that enables the selection of different image objects of a patient and contrasts them by using the drag and drop function for visualization. Series of images, videos and documents from both, the current and previous examinations can be provided at the same time. And not just from your own database –you can also selectively include DICOM objects of other applications for your medical evaluation from a PACS system. This enables short waiting times and avoids unnecessary redundancies in terms of administration of comprehensive image files.

Within the conhIT Congress, Michael Heinlein, Managing Director of MEDNOVO Medical Software Solutions GmbH, gave a joint presentation together with Mr Härdter of the Clinic Stuttgart pointing out that MEDNOVO, apart from its motto “IT meets medical engineering”, is also working on answers regarding the MPG (Medical Devices Law) and data protection together with its customers.
