MediColor-DocuMedis - overview
MediColor-DocuMedis is the medical documentation system for wound management and its development was supported by two acknowledged specialists in the domain of wound management. It was created for usage in hospitals and ambulant long-term care facilities and shall ease the documentation of wound recognition up to wound therapy.
It includes the following functionalities:
- Patient management
- Definition of risk level
- Patient anamnesis
- wound anamnesis
- change of bandage(dressing, irrigation, antiseptics, expenditure of time - possibility to define of bandage sets)
- follow-up wound therapy (antibiosis, auxiliary therapy)
- wound images/ automatically identification of wound images to patient via barcode
- NEW: calculation of the wound area incl. view in graphics of wound area development
- Woundpass/ transition or automatic generation of reports incl. images
- Therapy course
- cost analysis
- Evaluation
Each documentation is available for all staff which is involved in particular wound therapy. The possibility of networking staff that co operates in MediColor-DocuMedis guarantees an objective and traceable wound documentation and analysis.
In a road test handmade documentation was compared to documentation with MediColor-DocuMedis. The result was that documentation with MediColor-DocuMedis is less or even equal in expenditure of time.
MediColor-DocuMedis offers advantages for wound management such as:
- Quality control and assurance by gapless documentation, starting with wound localization through to wound therapy up to evaluation
- Simple usability by mandatory fields as well as automatically update of the patients archive in case of new admission (to the hospital) (because of interfaces to HIS and RIS)
- Wound-related documentation of treatment
- Uniquely identification of each wound
- Printable course of therapy affords the complete overview of the according wound therapy
- Possibilty to generate a wound pass or report for the patients transition within the hospital or to an ambulant ward
- Possibility to compare costs of different alternative treatments
