MediColor-DocuMedis - application

MediColor-DocuMedis

The advantage of the general possibility of using MediColor-DocuMedis in all steps of wound therapy is: MediColor-DocuMedis realizes a gapless wound and patient related documentation of wound therapy process including the following parts:

Administration of patient

Opening patients can be done in MediColor-DocuMedis or realized by a HL7 connection to other systems which transfer the following master patient data: name, prename, patients ID, and changed data, strictly speaking: messages and segments A01, A02, A03, A08. To connect hospital administration systems a BDT interface can be realized.
Mandatory fields are marked and cannot be ignored. Every new opening of patients means a fulfilment of the patient archive system.

Definition of risk level

The definition can be done in Norton or Braden scale. Values resulted by input is documented for each appointment day and is basic for evaluation of risk level. The current risk level is shown at patient anamnesis.

Patient anamnesis

Here information of ward, additional diagnosis, concomitant diseases, risk factors, infections and viruses are documented. Concomitant diseases are encoded in ICD-10 format. For the typist name has to be fed the judicial assurance is realized. Out of information about body weight and height the BMi is calculated and the birth date is basis for age calculation. The data is saved in relation to date of input so complementing of data means to open an additional file card. Moreover it is possible to input data in text form.

Wound anamnesis

Here the user can document location and type of wound. Wound location is defined by clicking on the system shown body. Detailed wound related description is possible in text forms. The program generates for each opened wound in MediColor-DocuMedis a separate file card so each wound can be defined and documented separate.

Wound therapy

Here takes place documentation of therapy procedures starting by record of systematically antibiosis through to bandage changes up to additional therapies. In detail all important procedures are summarized. Each user can conform tables of database up to his own need.

Bandage change

Here the type of Débridements is documented followed by local antiseptical therapy irrigation, used bandage dressings and/ or one way products and spent time of nurse and medic staff. For each parameter you can define cost factors which can be shown as an overview of all accrued costs.

Therapy plan

The therapy plan is the main module of this system. For giving the user an overview about all already done steps of wound therapy a printable therapy plan can be generated. At the same time all costs of therapy can be seen.

Cost analysis

Costs of therapy are shown either wound or patient related. Both types of analysis are divided in different occurring cost (antibiotics, bandage dressings, antiseptics, etc.). The system affords the possibility to show particular costs as proportion of total costs or as average costs per day. So a valise comparison of costs is possible including personal costs.

Wound pictures

For optical control and documentation the use can make wound pictures with a digital camera and record them in MediAnes. The system will generate an album in which the picture is allocated to date and patient.

wound pass

Also the relocation of patients intra-hospital or intra ambulant areas or even from one to the other is easier by the system generated printable wundpass. It can be digital transferred, too and include wound pictures or wound picture series. Moreover it can be made anonymous so the data can be used for studies.
