The documentation system MediColor-DocuMedis contains several gateways to other systems. The integrated HL7 interface affords a digital connection to hospital used HIS or a connection to hospital used archive system or EPR. The digital connection to PACS is realized by a DICOM gateway.

In MediColor-DocuMedis a mass of information can be documented in a well arranged and flexible way which can be seen and printed at every work place:

• findings in text form
• pictures
• videos
• measured values (including a link to already progressed examination at medical device)
• graphics, drawings (measures of wounds)

Besides detailed and structured documentation of wound status and wound therapy there is the easement of allocating pictures to specific examination without using a big database.

In the view of processing wound management includes the following steps:

• aethiological clearing of anamnesis in general with a detailed wound and therapy anamnesis
• objective wound analysis and wound diagnosis
• therapy course of an individual concept of therapy in regard to patients therapy goals and an intensive cooperation between medics and nursing staff ( consulting of one another and combined planning)
• a step coped wound therapy in regard to all standrad of wound therapy and causative facts
• objective, traceable wound documentation and analysis because of doing a wound analysis by using digital camera and clinical monitoring
• evaluation of therapy success in regard to individual goals and cost-benefit perspective
• networking and cooperation of all therapy involved staff
